To seek FIRST the Kingdom of God, one would seek to know details about the King and His domain, one being His name, the meaning, the proper use and the hatred of the misuse - that is, to hallow it.
Matthew 6:9 In this manner, therefore, pray: Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name.

Strong's number for hallowed is G37. It is only used once (recorded twice) by the Holy Spirit in all the N.T. It is used as an imperative to us as something we do at His command.
From G40; to make holy, that is, (ceremonially) purify or consecrate; (mentally) to venerate: - hallow, be holy, sanctify.
Our tendency, due to tradition, is to make the mistake of thinking "hallow" means to put on the shelf, under a glass dome, and forget about it, like you're supposed to do with your 401K nest egg until the end of your working life, as in out of reach in order to ensure it survives. Somehow we've come to believe that if not knowing it means you will be assured of not abusing it, then 'not knowing it' must be the right application of the command to "hallow".
Not so. Look at G40 from which the word derives. It is used over 225 times in the N.T. so we have a full picture of a hallowed object.

From hagos (an awful thing) compare G53, [H2282]; sacred (physically pure, morally blameless or religious, ceremonially consecrated): - (most) holy (one, thing), saint.
This word is used to describe the Holy Spirit. It is used to describe the "saints". Neither of these are to be put on the shelf not to be used or touched. They are both very active and at the same time are very able to be abused.
Therefore, as I pray this prayer to the Heavenly Father that His name is hallowed and ought to be hallowed and will be hallowed on my watch is to declare my intent to know it and use it properly and to protect it from abuse and not allow it to be trampled or profaned. I am to recommit myself to this in the daily prayer (Mat 6:9).
So here's the question: if "hallow" means to use for an intended purpose in the prescribed manner, how is it done if I do not know it? How can I keep it from being profaned or used for illegal purposes if I have moth-balled it under a glass dome and forgotten it and am unskilled in employing it myself?
