Brothers,
We must understand the work of the LORD and the operation of His hands if we are to be blessed and nourished and usable to Him who sits on the throne ( Psa 1, et al )
Isa 5:12 The harp and the strings, The tambourine and flute, And wine are in their feasts; But they do not regard the work of the LORD, Nor consider the operation of His hands. ( … what He does and how He does it … ) ( "glory in this, that you know Me and understand Me … " - Jer 9:22-24)
Isa 5:13 Therefore my people have gone into captivity, Because they have no knowledge; Their honorable men are famished, And their multitude dried up with thirst.
Why? Man shall not live by bread alone but by every word that comes out of the mouth of God.
What He does and how He does it is not the business of the church system we are currently victimized by, no matter what the advertisements claim.
The church system today is basically a travel agency trying to get customers to go on the cruise to heaven. The more attractive we can make the destination, the more the unqualified (the fence-sitters) will sign up. "Peace, joy, prosperity, nice kids, good marriages, good reputations, escape from hell, eternity in a land like Eden with lots of friends and all your dearly departed".
Someone created the bobble-head Jesus figure. I notice that bobble-headed personalities only bobble in the 'yes' direction, they never bobble in the 'no' direction. It was only a matter of time before the bobble-headed Jesus would make its debut.
And then it is also conveniently conducive to give job security to those who like attention and like to have many hang on their every word. Broad brush, yes, accurate, yes. Most of the prophets of the LORD decry this.
Yeshua was here to faithfully carry out His Father's wishes in redeeming us from our destruction that He (YHWH) might also give to His Son the recruited-and-tested-faithful-ones to reign with Him as He rules/manages/stewards the kingdom for His Father's honor and glory. If we are held to having to bear fruit, it is because the Son of Man also will be judged according to the fruit of His works when He presents the kingdom to His Father at the end of the age. (((He will get the job done - guaranteed!)))
Jesus was all about the kingdom. It's what drives Him in all His works and words while He was here (see Sermon on the Mount, for example).
He seems confident enough to command us to do the same : "seek first His kingdom".
If what we are doing is not directly related to the kingdom of God from heaven, then judgment for us and our loved ones will be a Day of loss instead of reward of the inheritance. The inheritance only relates to the kingdom that is coming.
Let us live with a single eye to the city to come, the heavenly Jerusalem, from which the LORD of hosts will reign forever and ever.
Dan 7:18 But the saints of the Most High shall receive the kingdom, and possess the kingdom forever, even forever and ever.'
Rev 3:11-13 Behold, I am coming quickly! Hold fast what you have, that no one may take your crown. He who overcomes, I will make him a pillar in the temple of My God, and he shall go out no more. I will write on him the name of My God and the name of the city of My God, the New Jerusalem, which comes down out of heaven from My God. And I will write on him My new name. "He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches." '
Rev 11:15 Then the seventh angel sounded: And there were loud voices in heaven, saying, "The kingdoms of this world have become the kingdoms of our Lord and of His Christ, and He shall reign forever and ever!"
Refresh your hearts, rejoice in Him and praise Him seven times a day, and remember the law of the Temple : Ezekiel 43:12.
Look up, the Fire is lit,
Bruce
