Each line is carefully chosen to teach about how to wait for His return. Each line is justified in the list of Scriptures after the song below.
He’s almost here now coming in His glory ( Chorus1 )
With Saints and Angels riding in His train.
This time He conquers finishing the story –
No more a baby, He forever reigns.
Where are the men who live like they’ve been born again!
Where are the men who are done with sin!
Where are the men who refuse to compromise their light!
Men faithful to the death, fresh from the fight!
( Chorus1 )
Where are the men seeking first the kingdom of our God,
Hunting down His righteousness with everything we’ve got;
Men fashioned by the faith delivered to us long ago,
Men ransomed by a love so fierce we cannot stop?
( Chorus1 )
Where are the men sacrificing for their wives and kids,
Building sons and daughters who can stand alone,
Laying down the footsteps future generations need,
Facing down the Liar to protect their homes!
He’s almost here now, coming in His glory! ( Chorus2 )
He’s going to rule the nations with an iron rod!
Every knee and tongue will magnify His majesty,
And then He’ll give the kingdom back unto His God.
Refiner’s Fire looms for all those saved by grace;
He is sifting for the overcomers who can hear.
Our works are purified passing through the fire;
Our praise is anchored in His love and in our fear.
( Chorus2 )
The Wedding Day will not delay – ( Bridge )
He’s standing at the door.
The trumpet blast! His grace is past.
The Bridegroom woos no more!
Oh, you’re thinkin’ you’ve been born again? A prayer is all you’ve said?
And you’re living neither cold nor hot? You must have been misled!
For, what if there’s no asking, no desire, no pursuit?
Oh, you said the prayer to Jesus but what happened to the fruit?
Yes, you said you’d follow Jesus; now He’s looking for the fruit!
For the Fire doesn’t care if you are cute and saved and nice!
If your life is full of compromise and prayers are full of ice,
Then the Day will not be glorious and you won’t know what to do
When the King turns from your nakedness when all there is … is you.
When the shame of all your nakedness shows what you did not do.
Well, the answer is to seek Him now, to turn around, fall down.
Let His fire rage through your soul until your King is rightly crowned.
Repentance? it’s a daily tread – with daily Bread that’s life!
When He comes to bring salvation then He’s going to take a wife!
Yeah, we’re looking for salvation – but are you fit to be His wife?
( Bridge ) ( Chorus2 ) ( Chorus1 )
… reigns forever more … reigns forever more!
